Answer: Tech-101: Murat, Installing a concrete slab with an exposed aggregate surface requires obtaining washed, colored stones in nominal sizes of 3/8" to 5/8" for best results. The aggregates must be soaked in water for a minimum 2 hours to prevent premature absorption. Once the Concrete slab has been screeded off seed the aggregates (also known as rainbow rock) into the hydrating surface of the concrete spreading them evenly throughout the surface and embedding them with a magnesium bullfloat. At this point fresno the concrete surface while edging the slab and then spray sugar mixed with water (5lb of sugar per 2 gallons of water) to act as a natural retarder by reducing water absorption ratios. When the surface is hard enough to walk on then spray the cement surface with a setting of 1500 psi on a pressure washer - washing the cement off the top of the rocks. As with any exposed aggregate concrete finish you must apply an acrylic cure seal within 24 hours to prevent the aggregate from delamination...Good luck! Question answered in:  0 hours 43 minutes
